The island of Cythira (French reading of Kythira (Greek)) is the Greek island where Aphrodite first landed after being born from the sea
foam.
There is a temple dedicated to Aphrodite. It is also the subject of the painting "Pilgrimage to the Island of Cythera" by the French painter Vatto.
This work represents the scene of Aphrodite's birth out of the sea
foam, and the theme of the work is the praise and sympathy for
femininity.
A work on the same theme is in the collection of the Guimet Museum of Oriental Art in France.

してーる島とはアフロディーテが海の泡から生まれ、最初に上陸したギリシャの島、シティラ島（フランス語読みでキティラ）で、アフロディーテに捧げられた神殿があります。愛の島としてフランスの画家ヴァットーによる絵画「シテール島の巡礼」の題材にもなっています。
この作品は、アフロディーテが海の泡から誕生した場面を表現しており、女性らしさへの賛美と共感がテーマとなっています。
同テーマの作品がフランスのギメ東洋美術館に所蔵されています。
